Heirloom Estate Videography

We are proud to offer a unique and deeply meaningful service: Estate Videography. This optional add-on allows us to sit down with the estate owner and capture their memories, stories, and sentiments tied to cherished belongings. From heirloom furniture to travel souvenirs, these interviews give voice to the history behind the items being passed on.

Whether shared with family now or kept as a keepsake for future generations, estate videography is a powerful way to honor a lifetime, and ensure that legacy lives on... long after the sale is over.

How Estate Sales Work

South Bend Estate Liquidation

Step 2 - Appraisal & Inventory

South Bend Estate Liquidation

Our mission is to make the estate sale process transparent, compassionate, and efficient. Here’s what you can expect!

Step 1 - Consultation

Step 2 - Appraisal & Inventory

South Bend Estate Liquidation

Every estate—and every story—is unique. During your free consultation, we’ll talk about your goals, timeline, and the circumstances surrounding your estate.

We’ll discuss:

  • The scope and size of the sale
  • Any notable or exceptional items in the estate
  • How involved you'd like to be with pricing decisions
  • Whether you’re interested in optional videography services to preserve heirloom stories for future generations

This conversation sets the tone for a sale that’s not only profitable, but also meaningful.

Step 2 - Appraisal & Inventory

Step 2 - Appraisal & Inventory

Step 2 - Appraisal & Inventory

Our team will conduct a walkthrough of the estate to evaluate, document, and begin the appraisal process. Depending on your preference, this can include a:

  • Soft inventory (broad item overview)
  • Detailed itemized inventory (perfect for insurance or family record=keeping)

We work with a trusted network of appraisers, university experts, antique dealers, and collectors to ensure accurate valuations. Items are priced according to current market value for optimal sales results. If certain items warrant firm pricing or national reach, we’ll recommend our online auction services.

We balance speed with thorough preparation—most average estate sales are fully executed within 1.5 to 2 weeks.

Step 3 - Marketing Your Sale

Step 3 - Marketing Your Sale

Step 2 - Appraisal & Inventory

A beautiful sale deserves attention—and we know how to get it. Our flexible marketing approach can include:

  • Social media campaigns
  • Local print advertising
  • Specialty TV and radio promotions
  • Listings on estate sale and collector platforms

With a background in luxury real estate marketing, we bring high-end polish and professional visibility to every sale. Whether you prefer low-key promotion or maximum exposure, our advertising services are completely customizable.

Step 4 - Your Estate Sale!

Step 3 - Marketing Your Sale

Step 5 - Wrap-Up & Proceeds

On the day of your estate sale—or weekend event—our professional team arrives early to finish staging and setup. For your peace of mind, we kindly ask that families and representatives do not remain on-site during the sale or setup process. This helps maintain focus and ease the emotional toll of the transition.

Our expert staff manages every aspect of the sale, from customer service and negotiation to payment processing and crowd control. We aim for a welcoming, upscale shopping experience that maximizes sales.

Step 5 - Wrap-Up & Proceeds

Step 3 - Marketing Your Sale

Step 5 - Wrap-Up & Proceeds

After the sale concludes, we’ll:

  • Help arrange donations or disposal for unsold items (typically only 5-10% remain)
  • Break down displays and remove our equipment
  • Leave the property broom-clean and ready for its next chapter

Once the estate is settled, you’ll receive your final proceeds, based on the payment method you choose. All fees and commissions are clearly outlined upfront, with no hidden costs. We tailor our commission structure to the scope of services provided and will go over everything in detail during your initial walkthrough.

About South Bend Estate Liquidation

Mal Sabo, Indiana Auctioneer

Hello there! With over 20 years reselling experience, 10 years as a real estate sales agent, and a lifetime obsession for discovering the provenance of objects, South Bend Estate Liquidation is my vision for caring and compassionate estate management solutions.

When I was a little girl, I spent my happiest days on my great-grandparents’ farm in Iowa. They helped raise me, and their home was a place of magic... filled with antiques, heirlooms, and stories that seemed to live inside every object. I was especially close to my great-grandmother, and when she passed away, her belongings were sold in a rushed estate sale. I never had a chance to say goodbye to the treasures that had meant so much to me. They were simply… gone.

That experience stayed with me. I founded South Bend Estate Liquidation to do things differently. I believe every estate holds a lifetime of meaning, and it deserves to be handled with care, respect, and grace. I’ve always loved antiquing, vintage fashion, and giving new life to old things. But more than that, I want to help families preserve the spirit of what’s being passed on.

That’s why we offer a unique estate videography service: interviewing owners or family members about the items they’ve cherished, so future generations can hold onto the stories even if the objects move on. It's not merely about what we sell, it's about what we remember.

No matter the circumstance, we understand that personal possessions are, well, personal! You deserve hands-on, sensitive, and reliable estate liquidation services, whether you're downsizing, moving, or managing estates near South Bend.

Guided with Compassion

Helping Seniors Move Forward — with Grace, Dignity, and Heart

This isn’t just part of our business—it’s the heart of it. Our founder was inspired to create South Bend Estate Liquidation after a formative childhood experience. We've worked with a registered nurse at a retirement community in Indiana to develop a program that supports older adults through the complexities of moving and letting go. That partnership taught us how to meet people where they are—with empathy, patience, and a deep respect for personal history.

Memory Preservation
